Locking/Unlocking PIN codes
If you have accidentally lost or forgotten your PIN codes, follow the recommendations below.
Smart-ID
If you enter an incorrect PIN code three times in a row, the system will lock the account for three hours. You will see a countdown timer showing you how long before you can try again.
If three further incorrect PIN attempts be made (6 in total by now), the app will lock for a period of 24 hours. Again, a countdown timer will appear showing how long until you can try again.
If another three unsuccessful PIN attempts are made (9 in total), the PIN code will be locked permanently. When this happens, you need to
register and authenticate [https://www.smart-id.com/help/faq/pin-codes/locking-unlocking-of-the-pin-codes] a new Smart-ID account.
Mobile-ID
If you have lost or forgotten your SIM card PIN codes and still have access to your PUK code, open your Mobile-ID app and locate
Change codes on the menu. You can unblock the PIN codes using your PUK code.
If you have lost or forgotten your PUK code, apply for a new SIM card with Mobile-ID through your mobile operator.
